Halloween in 9 days, 9 days! You’re going to need a few things before you start carving away at your pumpkin. You will need a carving kit, pumpkins, lights, patience and a little creativity. From experience, a knife is much harder to handle than the tools that come in the pumpkin carving kits you can get at your local grocery store. The smaller blades let you work on small details. You can always buy the pumpkins at your local grocery store, but I picked mine from a pumpkin patch.
You will also need a lot of patience. Sometimes your pumpkin will not turn out like you wanted but don’t let that upset you. Oh, your fingers will get tired of carving. Don’t worry if your pumpkin looks like a ten-year-old carved it. I carved the one on the left and my ten-year-old sister carved the witch on the right. You wouldn’t have guessed who carved which pumpkin right?
Sadly pumpkin carving is only widely acceptable in October, so have fun and take your time carving pumpkins so you can proudly display them.
